Hatching in AutoCAD
Consider in this lesson, how in AutoCAD do the hatching ?. In the drawings quite often it is required in the AutoCAD to shade sections, sections, etc., so hatching in AutoCAD is often a tool used.
Hatching in AutoCAD is used only for closed areas, the open object is not shaded in AutoCAD. For the way to shade a closed area in AutoCAD, the graphic command is answered by the command "Barcode".
Where is the hatching in AutoCAD and how to apply the hatching in AutoCAD, we will talk further.
How to shade an object, an area in AutoCAD, types and type of hatching AutoCAD
To apply hatching to AutoCAD, click the Home tab of the toolbar - the Drawing toolbar - the Create Hatch button.
Before you apply the AutoCAD hatching, you need to configure it (specify the hatching parameters in AutoCAD), namely the type of hatching, its pattern, color, transparency, etc. Note that to create the hatching in AutoCAD, a temporary tab "Create hatching" appears.
You can shade the area, closed loop in the AutoCAD by simply clicking the mouse inside the area, the outline, and hatching in the AutoCAD will be done. Still there is one possibility to shade an object in the AutoCAD - it's to select an object (the second way of hatching the AutoCAD).
When you hover the cursor on the area of a closed object, a sketch (appearance) of hatching in AutoCAD with the default hatch settings appears.
You can set AutoCAD hatch parameters in the "Hatching and Gradient" dialog box in addition to the "Create hatching" tab in the toolbox. To do this, select the option "Options" command "Barcode" in the AutoCad.
How to set the parameters, the hatching settings in AutoCAD are up to you. How to set a hatch in AutoCAD, a more convenient way comes with practice in AutoCAD.
The "Hatching and Gradient" dialog box contains two tabs, respectively "Hatching" and "Gradient" in AutoCAD. We are interested in the tab "Hatching", which contains the parameters of hatching AutoCAD. You can shade the area in the AutoCAD gradient.
Let's study the hatching tab.
Autocad hatch type
"Standard type of hatching in AutoCAD" - allows you to create hatching in AutoCAD from standard hatch patterns.
"Hatch Type Autocad from Lines" - allows you to create a hatch in AutoCAD from lines.
"Custom AutoCAD hatching" allows you to plot the AutoCAD from the previously created custom hatch patterns with the .pat extension.
Usually, AutoCAD uses the first and second option for hatching: standard and linear. The Structure field shows how the hatch pattern looks in the AutoCAD.
The drop-down list of hatch patterns AutoCAD is ineffective, so click the ellipsis button to bring up the "Hatch Pattern Palette" dialog box. A pallet of hatch patterns in AutoCAD allows you to visually select the desired hatch pattern.
In AutoCAD color and hatch background
In the AutoCAD you can set the color and background of the hatching in the colors of the line of hatching and the color of the background of the hatching in AutoCAD.
Angle and scale of hatching in AutoCAD
By default, hatching in AutoCAD has a zero slope angle. Sometimes it is required to change the angle of the hatching in AutoCAD if it coincides with the contour of the object. Also in the AutoCAD is a pre-installed hatch pattern with lines at 45 degrees.
The default hatching scale for AutoCAD is 1, so hatching in AutoCAD can be very dense, stretched. In the figure you can see a sample of hatching in AutoCAD with different scales.
In AutoCAD the initial hatching point
Sometimes it is required that the hatching in AutoCAD be applied from a certain point, for example, the hatching of the brickwork in AutoCAD. Set the switch to "Specified Starting Point". Select the button below and specify a new initial hatching point in the AutoCAD for the hatch pattern "Brick Masonry" (see figure).
"Annotative hatching in AutoCAD" - automatic change of hatching scale AutoCAD depending on the scale of annotations.
"Associative hatching in AutoCAD" - automatic changes the hatching contours when changing the contour of a closed area (object). The contour of hatching in AutoCAD depends on the closed contour and extends after its change of location.
Hatching in AutoCAD as separate objects
Each shaded area in AutoCAD by the "Barcode" command is a single item. If you decide to transfer one of the shaded areas, the AutoCAD shading from other closed objects will also be transferred. For each shaded area in AutoCAD to be perceived as a separate object, set the "Individual hatching" check box. In this case, the hatching in AutoCAD for each area of the closed contour of the object will be created separately.
Quite often, designers copy the properties of objects (hatching AutoCAD) using the "Copy Properties" tool built-in the "Hatching and Gradient" dialog box. If you select the "Copy Properties" button, you will enter the Model space, where you can select the hatching in the drawing to borrow all the hatching settings from the AutoCAD from it.
Selecting the contour of hatching in AutoCAD
Mode to add hatch selection points AutoCAD allows you to select a closed contour for hatching by clicking inside the contour (area). The AutoCAD will display the query "Can not determine a closed loop" if the contour is not closed.
Mode select objects for hatching AutoCAD allows you to click the mouse to select objects for their hatching. Also a prerequisite is that the objects are closed.
Hatching options in AutoCAD
The mode of removing hatching islands in AutoCAD allows you to exclude closed contours / hatching areas from the set. In most cases, other objects fall into the AutoCAD shading area, which may or may not need to be hatched with AutoCAD. If you click the arrow button in the lower right corner of the Hatch and Gradient dialog box, additional AutoCAD hatching options will open. I propose to study the lessons of Autocad for Dummies. The solution to the hatching islands in the AutoCAD is displayed in the figure, which contains all the choices for hatching islands.
Editing hatching in AutoCAD
You can find the button for editing hatching in the AutoCAD in the "Home" tab of the tool belt, in the "Edit" tool group, the "Edit hatching" button. Next, the AutoCAD system requires you to select the hatch for editing.
An easier way to change hatching parameters (hatching editing), select hatching LMC. A temporary tab "Hatch Editor" appears in the tool belt in the AutoCAD.
How to add, load a hatch in AutoCAD
The custom hatching in AutoCAD has a .pat extension. Download hatching AutoCAD you can on your computer from the Internet, where there are a sufficient number of custom hatch patterns AutoCAD.
Follow the next algorithm to understand how to add hatching to AutoCAD.
- Add custom hatching to the Support folder. Folder path: C: \ Program files \ AutoCAD 20XX \ Support.
- Run the command "Barcode" in AutoCAD, the option "Options". The "Hatching and Gradient" dialog box appears in the AutoCad.
- Click the "Hatch Patterns Palette" button in the AutoCAD. In the "Hatch Patterns Palette" dialog box, select the "Custom" hatching tab in the AutoCAD (see figure).
